Assistant project surveyor Ollie Tucker attended the Chartered Institute of Building's event 'Commercial Retrofit: Playful Solutions, Serious Results' at Bristol Beacon today. The event offered an excellent opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities for retrofits within the commercial market with industry peers. With the built environment responsible for approximately 40% of the UK’s carbon emissions and 80% of the buildings we see today still expected to be standing in 2050, retrofitting will play a pivotal role in achieving sustainability targets.
