In honour of Black History Month, our team attended Akosua Adu-Sanyah’s exhibition, The House is a Body, at the Georgian House Museum in Bristol, where we reflected on the layers of history and legacy embedded in our built environment. We also joined a walking conversation hosted by Breaking the Dead Silence authors, exploring the city’s connections to empire, colonialism, and slavery. These events offered thoughtful ways to engage with this year’s theme, Reclaiming Narratives, and recognise the enduring contributions of Black individuals throughout history. Understanding these layers deepens our commitment to fostering inclusive spaces.
