Craig co-founded Rohan Short with Adam in 2023. He has worked in the construction industry since 2005 and has been involved in a diverse range of projects in Bristol and across the South West, including some of the region’s most high-profile commercial office developments. He originally studied Mathematics, graduating from the University of Bath in 2003, before completing a part-time master’s degree in Construction Cost Management at the University of Reading in 2007, qualifying as a chartered surveyor the following year.
Craig began his career at construction consultancy Sweett Group in 2005, going on to join Mace Consult in 2013, where he led the delivery of the University of the West of England’s new University Enterprise Zone, a 45,000 sq ft incubation space for start-up businesses and home to the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, as well as a number of development projects for Gloucestershire Constabulary. He also managed a series of major upgrades at the Lucozade and Ribena Factory in Coleford for Suntory Beverage and Food.
Moving to global consultancy Currie & Brown in 2015, Craig went on to lead a large team of quantity surveyors, overseeing the delivery of some of Bristol’s most high-profile commercial projects, including EQ, a state-of-the-art 200,000 sq ft office development for CEG, and Assembly, a mixed-use project providing 300,000 sq ft flexible office space across three new buildings for AXA Real Estate and Bell Hammer. Other notable projects include Bath Quays North for Bell Hammer, a mixed-use scheme providing 190,000 sq ft office space, 20,000 sq ft retail, 92 residential units and a 123-room hotel, and the redevelopment of the Galleries Shopping Centre for LaSalle Investment Management and Deeley Freed, comprising 240 new residential units, 100,000 sq ft office space, a 300-room hotel, 55,000 sq ft retail space, and 800 student bed spaces. Craig also led several major office refurbishment and fit-out projects, including Crescent Centre, a 120,000 sq ft office building on Temple Back, and Aztec 1000, an 80,000 sq ft development at Aztec West, both for CEG, and 100 Victoria Street, a 55,000 sq ft development in Redcliffe for V7.
Craig joined industrial consultancy KAM in 2022 to help launch the new Bristol office and expand the company’s real estate profile. While at KAM, Craig led the delivery of Halo, a new-build office scheme in central Bristol for Cubex Land, providing 120,000 sq ft Grade A workspace. He also managed Dunsbury Park, a new industrial and logistics hub for Portsmouth City Council, providing a total of 80,000 sq ft Grade A warehousing across three units, as well as advised Dominus on the New Henry Street project, a proposed seven-storey, 630-bed, purpose-built student accommodation building in the Old Market area of Bristol.
